About Mrs. Ayres Surber

Mrs. Ayres Surber has been an art educator for 19 years, with the last 15 at Jackson. She studied art at The University of Akron earning a BS in Art Education and The University of Toledo earning an MA in Art Education. Besides teaching art, Mrs. Ayres Surber is also a working artist, exhibiting her jewelry and other art work in various art shows in Ohio.

Mrs. Ayres Surber is married to Nathan Surber, who also is an artist. Together, they have a 4 year old son. Outside of school when not working on art, Mrs. Ayres Surber enjoys travelling and scouring flea-markets and thrift stores for cool, vintage finds. She has a collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers she inherited from her grandmother, a collection of Japanese Kokeshi dolls, and is currently interested in taxidermy insects!
